Salary: £27,055 to £32,934 per annum depending on experience (Agenda for Change Band 5)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our established and friendly Access Mental Health team.
Rethink Mental Illness provide psychological therapy, namely IAPT Step 1 and 2 services, in line with national best practice, for prisoners in the following North East Prisons - HMP Durham, HMP Frankland, HMP Holme House, HMP Northumberland, HMYOI Deerbolt, HMP Kirklevington Grange and HMP & YOI Low Newton.
Focusing on health education and self-help, we provide evidence based, low intensity interventions, based on CBT principles which focus on empowerment and self-management of common mental illnesses while in custody and on release.
How will you make a difference?
As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner you will work as part of an integrated primary care mental health team within the Prison to provide high volume, low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions, for clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. This includes providing guided self-help in both 1:1 and group formats, in line with the current Step 2 IAPT guidelines.
