We are looking to grow our bank register at our St Andrews Court service in Minehead, where you will join our friendly and inspiring team as a Bank Support Worker. Your role will be a bank position working as and when required based in the service. You will need to be able to work flexibly as you will be working as part of the rota.

 

Our St Andrews Court service is a supported housing service for people aged 18 years and above who are living with a mental illness and have low-level needs. We provide recovery focused person centred housing support for people who are at risk of not accessing or sustaining a home because of their mental health, vulnerability and/or history of housing related problems.  Our aim is to move people on from the service, to lead a more independent life in their own accommodation.

What will you be doing?

You will be supporting someone self-manage personal and domestic daily activities and helping them lead a fulfilling life. You will also be

  • Providing one to one individual support and liaison with other mental health agencies on behalf of people who use our service
  • Providing support in developing, reviewing, monitoring and adapting support and safety plans.
  • Contributing to the protection of individuals from the risk of abuse and harm to self and others who use our services.
  • Providing encouragement to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect mental wellbeing and physical health

 

Do you have what we are looking for?

  • Some understanding of recovery principles and embedding the ethos of recovery into your own practice.
  • Ability to make a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s situation and needs
  • Excellent communication
  • Good organisational skills
  •  

Ideally, we would like you to have some experience or understanding of Mental Health however Support Work isn’t all about qualifications. If you have a passion for making a difference to the lives of people living with a serve mental illness, you may be who we are looking for.
